Loren Cunningham

Loren Duane Cunningham (born 1936, Taft, California), a founder with his wife Darlene of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The two founded YWAM in the United States of America in 1960 when he was age 24. The focus of the group was Christian mission work.
He reported he decided to begin Youth With A Mission in response to a vision from God in which he saw waves. These waves grew bigger and bigger until they covered the whole land. He believed the waves symbolized young people.
