Lord Byron (Thomson)

Lord Byron is an opera in three acts by Virgil Thomson to an original English libretto by Jack Larson, inspired by the historical character George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron. First performance: Lincoln Center, New York City, 1972.
The opera is through-composed and set in London from 1812 to 1824. There is a ballet.
Lord Byron is not part of the standard operatic repertory. Although a recording of it does exist, it is rarely performed.
