Talk:Lopon Tsechu

[edit] POV?

was one of the greatest masters of Tibetan Buddhism is too subjective. Was he widely regarded as such? And by whom -- just his followers or Tinetan Buddhists generally? Billlion 11:52, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche was regarded as the second highest ranking Lama in the Drukpa Kagyu lineage in Bhutan. He lived for many years in Kathmandu and was a close personal friend of the King of Nepal before the King's assassination. His activity was especially important in securing the support of the Nepalese in the resettlement of countless Tibetan Refugees over the decades since the Chinese occupation of Tibet. He was the first teacher of Lama Ole Nydahl and in this connection gave teachings and empowerments to thousands of Karma Kagyu students, especially in Europe, Russia and South America between 1987 and 2003.

I hope this is helpful information for you. As you feel the first sentence is subjective, I have slightly changed it. Thankyou for asking me about this rather than changing it directly. I appreciate your courtesy.

Looks fine to me now.Billlion 09:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

One more question: Why remove "Rinpoche" from Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche's name? Other lamas such as Thrangu Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche have their "Rinpoche" title in their Wikis? Can I reinstate this? If so, how?

Thanks Vajraspanner

First of all pleas read [1]. I had a similar situation over my article about Akong Rinpoche. Have a look at the history, it was agreed we had to change it to a redirect to Akong. I didn't much like that but it seems to be the consensus. But at the moment this article is screwed up as the redirect is to the incorrectly named article. Please ask an admin to fix it. No doubt the other articles where the Rinpoche is in the main article not the redirect are just there because noone has got around to fixing them. Billlion 09:56, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
