Image Tagging Image:Chantelle Houghton.JPG
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Chantelle Houghton.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.98.101 12:43, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Zante
I have to agree with you on the Zante thing: it is very relaxing and also one of my favourite places in the world. Where were the pictures taken on your user page? -- Francs2000 15:29, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
This picture was taken on a small island to the south west of Lagana it shows looking down steps to a bridge that connects the island with Zante. London UK- Oh right, that's one place we didn't visit last time we went. Mental note to go back there when we go back to Zante next month... -- Francs2000 16:07, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Parkway.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Parkway.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ed g2s • talk 09:59, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Fair use images
Hi London UK!
Please don't used copyright images on your user page. "Fair use" of images to which others hold the copyright only applies to images used in the article namespace.
If you'd like further information, see Wikipedia:Fair use criteria - point 9 on that page says:
- Fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. This is because it is the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation to allow an unfree image only if no free alternative exists and only if it significantly improves the article it is included on. All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if there is a broad consensus that doing so is necessary to the goal of creating a free encyclopedia (like the templates used as part of the Main Page).
Thanks for your understanding. ➨ ≡ЯΞDVΞRS≡ 10:47, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Municipalities of Qatar
If we have a municipalities of Qatar map with numbers and not labels, we should either clean up the map to have labels or number the municipalities in the article. What's your take? (number the municipalities in the article). Thanks! --Matt
Image:London Olympic Stadium.jpg
Hi London UK. Image:London Olympic Stadium.jpg is copyright and can only be used in the article namespace where a "fair use" justification exists. To use it in other namespaces would require a "fair use" rationale that Wikipedia policy does not support. I have removed the image from your user page. Thanks. ➨ ЯЄDVERS 10:40, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
