From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The longwave transmitter Topolná is a longwave broadcasting facility working on 270 kHz near Topolná, Czech Republic. It was built in 1951 and uses two 257 metre high grounded masts carrying vertical cage aerials. By using two masts the propagation in East-West direction is optimized in order to allow good reception in the whole of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The transmitter was modernized between 1975 and 1978 and its power was increased to 1500 kilowatts.

Today the facility transmits Čr1 - Radiožurnál at a power of 650 kilowatts.
