"Longing ~跡切れた Melody~" or most commonly know as "Longing ~Togireta Melody~" is an X Japan song composed by the drummer and pianist Yoshiki Hayashi and released as a single on August 1, 1995. It would later become one of the tracks of their final album released in 1996, Dahlia.

The first Longing ~Togireta Melody~ appearance was in a demo that the band gave to 10,000 people that attended to their concerts the two last nights of 1994, this version had the lyrics a bit different from the final version released. The demo version was performed a few times in 1994 and early days in 1995, and the final one was performed in all band performances since the release of the single.
