Long Valley is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within Washington Township, in Morris County, New Jersey. As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 1,818.

Long Valley is located at GR1.
(40.786728, -74.776516)According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.2 km² (4.7 mi²), all land. However, this is incorrect as there are several bodies of water, including several man-made lakes used for agriculture and the small Raritan river. Also, much of Long Valley is part of Schooley's Mountain, a tall ridge that contrasts greatly with the rest of the region.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,818 people, 654 households, and 502 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 148.7/km² (385.4/mi²). There were 674 housing units at an average density of 55.1/km² (142.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.36% White, 0.66% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.94% Asian, 0.28% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.27% of the population.
There were 654 households out of which 36.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.0% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% were non-families. 16.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.15.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.8 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $79,262, and the median income for a family was $97,010. Males had a median income of $55,900 versus $42,679 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $36,711. About 3.0% of families and 4.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.2% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
