The route 26 starts at the bus station of Waterloo station and terminates at Hackney Wick.
On 21 July 2005, would-be bomber Ibrahim Muktar Said exploded a device contained in his rucksack on a 26 bus, in Hackney Road. Thankfully, the device failed to detonate.
