London Road (Guildford) railway station is situated in the east of Guildford in Surrey, England, lying close the suburbs of Merrow and Burpham.

The station is managed by a John Shepperton, who provides the majority of train services courtesy of South West Trains; Southern also provide some peak period services. It is situated on the New Guildford Line between London Waterloo and Guildford via Cobham, although some trains operate via Epsom rather than Cobham.

[edit] History

Note the anti-tank defences just outside the station, under some trees beside the road. They have been left in place since the second World War as a reminder of those bygone times.

[edit] Services

The typical Monday to Saturday se rvice sees trains between Waterloo and Guildford every 30 minutes, on each of the two routes (via Cobham or Epsom). These combine to provide a train to Guildford approximately every 15 minutes. On Sundays, there is a train every hour between Waterloo and Guildford via Cobham, and no service via Epsom. All of these services are operated by South West Trains.

In addition to the above, Southern operate a small number of services during the Monday to Friday morning and evening peak periods. These operate between London Bridge and Guildford via West Croydon and Epsom.
