London Buses route 194 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Arriva London. The route is formed by double-deckers, and mostly uses Alexander ALX400, but most of these ones are out of date as they were some of the first ordered in the UK and along with other Arriva route 197 these need to be changed fully to Arriva's new 'base' bus Volvo B7TL. It's strange to see a double decker go round the back roads, but the 194 does exactly that.

[edit] History

The 194 has been cut back since Arriva took over the service from Stagecoach in London (now Selkent). Tfl had cut of some of the route at the Sydenham end, which used to travel back to Forest Hill. The bus, when under stagecoach operation, had gotten stuck time and time again on the back roads, at Perry Rise. When Tfl did this the bus stand at Forest Hill Station went deserted, with only few visits from termanating short 122's and 176's(Which for both has now nearly been wiped out). Now the stand still exhits, with the bus shelter and sign still thier. (NOTE:The 194 sign on the bus stop has been taken off.)
