[edit] Politics

Lomme has been annexed to Lille in order to secure Martine Aubry's victory as Mayor of Lille. Historically, Lomme has been a left-wing city since 1945. Since Lille began to turn right-wing, the mayor of Lomme, Yves Durand (PS) accepted the devolution of his city, in exchange of a possible ministry position, would Martine Aubry have become Prime Minister.
