Lois's Sister

Lois' Sister is episode 513 of the FOX Network series Malcolm in the Middle, written by Gary Murphy. Although it is the 98th episode, it was advertised as the 100th when it originally aired on February 22, 2004.

The boys start cleaning up in preparation for Lois' sister, Susan (Laurie Metcalf) to arrive. In the first few hours of her visit, she gives a cold shoulder to Hal, a $5000 savings bond to Jamie, a cotton candy machine to Dewey, and her Mustang to Malcolm and Reese. Lois objects, which starts afire an argument in which climaxes when Susan blurts out that she and Hal (her boyfriend at the time) had sex on the hood of her car on prom night. As a result, Lois and Hal take away the Mustang engine and the cotton candy machine. Dewey finds a way to get to the machine (and eventually seals himself in the garage with the cotton candy at the end of the episode), while Reese vows to get the Mustang by using his "brainpower". Lois finds out that Susan has end-stage renal disease and needs a kidney to live (not to mention that she told the doctor that she was an only child). Lois tries to intervene, but Susan won't allow it. Reese manages to get the Mustang (the body of it) towed and 'drives' him and Malcolm to a kegger. The cops find out soon enough, and Reese and Malcolm are grounded until everyone at the party dies of old age. Lois goes through the kidney transplant, despite Susan's objections. After hard convincing on Lois' part, Susan eventually accepts.
