Loinen (finnish: parasite) is a Sludgecore/Doom metal band from Karjaa (Karis), Finland. Formed in 2002, the band incorporates elements of Noise Rock, Hardcore Punk (in particular Terveet Kädet), and even Black Metal into their sound. Loinen is unusual among its contemporaries in exclusively using finnish language lyrics, which combined with extremely anguished & unhinged vocals, abstract and harsh guitar, twin basses (1 clean and 1 distorted) and minimalist drums in songs which may last up to 20 minutes, creates a uniquely potent listening experience.
