Loek van Wely (b. October 7, 1972) is a chess Grandmaster from the Netherlands. In the October 2006 FIDE rating list, he has an ELO rating of 2676, making him the number 29 in the world. He has been champion of The Netherlands six times. In 2002, in Maastricht, Netherlands, van Wely took on the computer program Rebel in a four game match. The computer won two games and van Wely won two games.
