Lockport, Manitoba

Lockport is a small town in Manitoba, Canada located just north of the city of Winnipeg. It is the site of a dam and lock of the Red River. The Red River Floodway joins the Red River just down river from the dam. It is part of the rural municipalities of St. Andrews west of, and St. Clements east of the Red River.

It contains the Lockport Junior High School. It contains grades 7, 8, and 9, because the local high school (Lord Selkirk Comprehensive High School) cannot fit grade 9 inside its walls.

Lockport is also known for having some of the best fishing in Manitoba.

Interesting sites in Lockport include the Half Moon Restaurant, famous for Sunday evening drives from Winnipeg, as well as the Red River and adjoining parks.
