The historic county of Shropshire, England, located in the West Midlands region, has two areas with separate systems of local administration. The current set up has existed since 1998.
The non-metropolitan/shire county of Shropshire (seen in pink, right) has a County Council and is then divided into five non-metropolitan districts. The districts of Oswestry and Shrewsbury & Atcham are both boroughs.
The unitary district and borough of Telford and Wrekin (seen in yellow, right) remains part of the ceremonial county. It is however independent from Shropshire County Council.

Some civil parishes that consist of more than one main village and are named therefore "x with x" are also included here, rather than in the Villages in Shropshire category, which is where the other parishes can be found.
Also parishes with names such as "x Rural" can be found here.
