Lloyd's of London (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lloyd's of London is a 1936 black and white film. It is directed by Henry King, and stars Freddie Bartholomew, Madeleine Carroll, Guy Standing, Tyrone Power, C. Aubrey Smith, Virginia Field, Douglas Scott and George Sanders.

Loosely based on history, Tyrone Power portrays the adult Jonathan Blake who is in love with an aristocratic woman whose husband seriously injures him. Blake's friendship with Lord Nelson provides the basis for Blake's part in the growth of Lloyd's insurance business following the Battle of Trafalgar.
