Llanview, Pennsylvania

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Llanview, Pennsylvania is the fictitious setting for the long-running American soap opera, One Life to Live.

The community is supposedly a suburb of Philadelphia and is modeled after the actual Chestnut Hill section of the city. It is said to be the county seat of Llantano County and located on the Llantano River, across from Pine Valley, home of All My Children.

Llanview is the home of Llanview University and Buchanan Enterprises, headed by Asa Buchanan. The local newspaper is The Banner, which is still run by former Llanview mayor, Victoria Lord. Also in Llanview is Llanview Hospital, the area's medical center, and a central area called Angel Square, located in East Llanview.

The community's police commissioner is Bo Buchanan; and the temporary district attorney is Hugh Hughes, a replacement for ill Nora Hanen. Llanview resident and college student Marcie Walsh is a best known author and writer of the community.
