The Cyrillic letter lje (Љ, љ) was originally a ligature of Л and Ь and represents the same phoneme that the two separate letters do, /lʲ/. It is used in Macedonian and Serbian. It was invented by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić and corresponds to Latin Lj in Serbian.
