Elizabeth (Liz) Handlin, born 1967 in Fort Worth,Texas , is a well known career counselor, resume writer, and author.

Liz grew up in rural Oklahoma and moved to Chicago in 1985 to attend The University of Chicago. At the University of Chicago, Liz was a charter member of Kappa Alpha Theta's Epsilon Phi Chapter. Upon graduation in 1989 Liz joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as a recruiter and became known for recruiting some of the best and brightest college students from around the country to the Chicago Fed.

Liz earned her MBA from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 2002 while working full time at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. At the Fed, Liz created Money Smart Week, an annual public relations campaign designed to promote financial education among consumers. Liz was honored by Microsoft and Smart Money Magazine (June 2004) for creating Money Smart Week. Under Liz's leadership Money Smart Week grew from 40 events in its first year to more than 200 events in multiple states by its 3rd year. In 2004, drawing upon her experience as a recruiter and knowledge of PR and marketing, Liz created her own resume writing service, Ultimate Resumes LLC www.ultimate-resumes. In 2006 Liz began focusing her efforts full time on Ultimate Resumes and on BroadPeak Collaborative www.broadpeak.us

In 2005, Liz married Jonathan R. Hogue, author of Intrusion Prevention Fundamentals (Cisco Press). They make their home in Austin, Texas.
