Back in 1970 to 1972 Livermore High School was known in Livermore as where the "cowboys" went to school while the "hippies" went to Granada High School.

During this time period some Livermore High males would cruise the town seeking "longhairs" from Granada High. Riding in their pick-up trucks with several males in the truck bed, Granada High "hippies" were subject to on-the-spot haircuts from the Livermore High "cowboys" who would use large shears and physical force to give the haircut.
