[edit] Fun Facts
Livermore High School has a friendly rivalry with Granada High School. During the sports season, the rivalry almost always gets visual too, such as hundreds of dead goldfish scattered in and around the Granada pool one day before a water polo meet, as well as trash thrown in the Livermore High pool a week later. During the 2004-2005 school year, Livermore High School participated in the Livermore Police Department's "Buckle Up for Safety" campaign, in which the high schools in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District competed against one another to see which school had the fewest amount of cars with passengers not wearing seatbelts. Student Steven Zupan created a PSA-type video starring students Devin Ritchie and Christian Villanueva for Livermore High School. The video was shown to all students to encourage the use of seatbelts. Teachers and other staff would also have fun messages and sometimes music put in the daily gram to encourage students to wear their seatbelts. One of the most notable songs was Mr. Reyes' "Buckle Up for Safety" song, which can be heard here.
During the 2004-2005 school year, the ABC television network's show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition held a benefit concert at the Livermore High School football field to raise money to build a house for a family in need. All of the members of that family have attended, are attending, or will be attending Livermore High. The house is located very close to the school. The event was shown during the episode. More information about the episode can be found here.
Livermore High School is also the host to the yearly American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Livermore, California.
