From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Live at the Fireside Bowl was a 4 song 7" by Against All Authority released on VML. The recording took place on 7/16/95 at The Fireside Bowl in Chicago. VML was a label owned by The Vindictives. Against All Authority were on their first full tour of the USA with Less Than Jake when this recording took place.

An excerpt from the album:

The purpose of the VML live series is to preserve samples of some of the great live shows that are consistently taking place in the independent music scene. What you hear on a V.M. Live release is from the audiences' perspective. The reason for this is that we believe that a "good show" is at least 50% audience member interaction; so when we record our aim is to capture the energy of the room, rather than just plugging into the board. Microphones are placed in the midst of the crowd and connected to a portable DAT recorder and allowed simply to roll. We feel that a live recording should make you wish that you were there. Of course, this leaves us at the mercy of drunk soundmen, crappy P.A. systems, road weary bands and other hazards.
