Yes, Littlefoot was an Apatosaurus but technically where it says that the Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus aren't the same thing, the whole controversy over that was because they WERE the same dinosaur, just the Brontosaurus was an incorrectly identified adult vcversion of the already discovered Apatosaurus. The reason why Littlefoot can't be called a "Brontosaurus" is because it doesn't make any sense to anymore.

Shorty was one of the lone, child dinosaurs that Bron found while looking for Littlefoot, one of his original herd members, and judging by his small crest, he is a brachiasaurus (sorry if the spelling's a little off) not an apatosaursus, so is not a half-brother, more of an adoptive brother.
