Little Tramp
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Little Tramp was an ambitious 1992 stage musical based on the life of Charles Chaplin, with music and lyrics by renowned musician and songwriter David Pomeranz. It was a labour of love for Pomeranz, who cited Chaplin as one of his artistic heroes. He also penned a book of the same name with Steven David Horwich.
Little Tramp premiered in London and was followed by a CD recording of the score, for which Pomerantz gathered together what he referred to as his "dream cast." It featured England’s Peter Duncan as Chaplin himself, for the most part, amidst an all-star lineup,.
Following this, Little Tramp was the selected production for the 1995 summer season at the prestigious Eugene O'Neill Theater Festival in Waterford, Connecticut and in 1996 a concert version of the show was presented in St. Petersburg, Russia, to inaugurate the world's first East/West Musical Theater Conference.
