Little Jeannie

"Little Jeannie" is a song by Elton John and Gary Osborne, recorded by Elton John and released as a single in 1980, and also on that year's album 21 at 33. It reached number 3 on the Billboard charts in the United States, becoming Elton John's biggest US hit since 1976's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word". The song can be described as an uptempo ballad. Instrumentally, it strongly resembles Elton's earlier hit Daniel, with an electric piano and an acoustic guitar dominating the arrangement. Ironically, the later song features only one of the same instrumentalists--drummer Nigel Olsson--as the earlier song. Even the piano, played by Elton himself on "Daniel", is here played by James Newton-Howard.
