Little Hallingbury

Little Hallingbury is a village located in ESSEX, UK (http://www.anvil.clara.net/hallingbury.htm).
The area has many walks, two good pubs, and a very active social life.
Little Hallingbury Mill has a converted mill which today is a guest house restaurant. Built in 1874, there has been milling[1] on this site since 1068.

To the north of the village lies Hatfield Forest, designated as a Royal Hunting Forest from the time of the Norman kings. The forest is open to the public and covers 1049 acres of woodland, grassland with trees, lake and marsh.

Nearby Portingbury Hills was an iron age settlement, and banks and ditches which were part of the fortifications can still be seen.
