Little Deer was one of Duncan MacLeod's greatest loves. She was a Sioux Native American who lived with her son, Kahani, in a Sioux tribe. Her husband had died but she fell in love with Duncan and the three lived as a normal family.
One day, in 1872, while Duncan was way waiting for Connor MacLeod to hunt, American soldiers led by Immortal Kern destroyed their village killing all the Sioux along with Little Deer and Kahani. After burning the bodies with Connor, Duncan went after Kern but after failing to find him, he sought refuge on holy ground for a while to find peace and escape the bloodshed of The Game. In 1994 Duncan would finally behead Kern.
