Little Blue Planet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Little Blue Planet is the first episode of fourth season of Lexx.
[edit] Summary
As it turns out Prince is the head of the ATF and as Prince, the President and the Secret Service sit down around a table, Prince notifies that a group of ATF agents working with SETI reported that a 12 year old boy from Sulfur, Louisiana contacted SETI to notify them that he had spotted a UFO, the Lexx, near the moon with is telescope.
Stan asks the president questions about the planet and Earth women, the president answers irrelevantly with answers from index cards, this does result in Stan getting mad at the president. Then back on the Lexx, Stan contemplates if Earth should be destroyed, preferably he would want it destroyed. But as Stan orders the Lexx to blow up the planet, the Lexx does not respond back. Then Xev asked if the Lexx would blow up the planet if she asks him to, as she had the key from the last 2 Lexx episodes.
Meanwhile back on Earth, Cobra, a Russian Serial Killer obsessed with clean fingernails, is strapped into an electric chair. While on the shuttle, the pilots tell Cobra and his two friends how do drive the shuttle by just pressing the gas and steering just like a car but with no breaks. This kind of humor is seen a lot in LEXX. The Lexx is still hungry and it is obvious that Earth has the proteins that the Lexx needs, so they decide that it is OK for the Lexx to eat some of the planet and it so happens that the Lexx eats up some of the Amazon Rainforest. But on the way to Earth to eat, the Lexx notices the shuttle and decides to eat it as a snack.
[edit] Plot
This episode begins with Marconi in Newfoundland 1901 and his trans-Atlantic communication attempt. The shot pulls out to the Milky Way with the Morse-code echoing though out the universe as a large asteroid figure heads toward the solar system.
After the intro, the show is set in modern day in Washington D.C. where the president of the U.S.A., along with members of the Secret Service, travel to an underground base to talk with aliens, the aliens being the crew of the Lexx.
As Stan disputes that he should have the key, Kai states that Earth is at the darkest part of the Dark Zone and advices to leave as soon as possible. 790 then states that it is a type 13 planet that usually destroys itself at its particular stage, either by war or unintentionally condensed in a pea sized object by scientist trying to find the mass of the Higgs boson particle.
Meanwhile back on Earth, Cobra, a Russian Serial Killer obsessed with clean fingernails, is strapped into an electric chair. Before the switch is thrown, Prince gets him released and brought to a dull room in the White House for a mission debriefing. His mission is to take a shuttle up to the Lexx with a Nuclear Warhead on board and blow up the Lexx, where he would be accompanied by to NASA pilots on two more people of his choose. While on the shuttle, the pilots tell Cobra and his two friends how do drive the shuttle by just pressing the gas and steering just like a car but with no breaks. This kind of humor is seen a lot in LEXX. But while traveling toward the moon, the pilots are killed by Cobra and his friends, leaving them to pilot the shuttle.
Back in the United States it turns out that it is election night, as we see the president along with Prince and a few people from the cabinet. As it turns out the new president would be Reginald J. Priest, who reportedly has been hiding in the jungle for the past 3 decades.
Back on the Lexx, 790 tries to persuade Stan to kill Xev, since Xev is a threat to 790 and that she still has the key and Stan obviously want the key back. Stan does not want to kill Xev at all, since he is attracted to basically anyone of the opposite sex. Cobra and his friends overheard this conversation and waited for Stan to leave before talking to 790 and taking the deal to kill Xev.
So the plan was that Cobra would pretend to be a love slave trapped on the Lexx, and to try to take advantage of Xev before he shoots her with a gun. Obviously neither Xev nor Stan know what a gun is until this season. Kai finds out what 790’s plan was to kill Xev, so Kai and Stan rush to try to find Xev before Cobra kills her. On the way to the dinning hall Kai and Stan run into Cobra’s two friends and start firing at Kai, so he kills them with his brace.
As Cobra pulls out his gun and shoots at Xev, the key flies out of her hind and into Stan’s, all this while Kai shoots his brace and blocks the bullet from hitting Xev and killing Cobra. A few moments later as the crew get back to the bridge, the Nuclear Warhead blows up in the Lexx’s stomach, not destroying him or harming the crew in anyway. After Stan realizes that the people of Earth tried to blow them up, he gets an urge to destroy the planet. Xev convinces him that there might be a few good people that live on Earth and that they can leave after she explores Earth for a little while.
