Adi Litia Cakobau Mara-Dugdale is the fifth child and fourth daughter of Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, Fiji’s first Prime Minister, and was namesake to her mother Ro Lady Lala Mara. She married a British citizen in 1991, Henry Stratford Dugdale, son of British peer Sir John Robert Stratford Dugdale and Kathryn Edith Helen Stanley. Adi Litia sparked a fashion trend in Fiji with her wedding dress, by having it completely made out of traditional tapa cloth, a fabric hand-made from the bark of the mulberry tree. The dress was made by famous New Zealand designer Annie Bonza and is now on display in the Fiji Museum. She currently resides in London. Her last major public engagements in Fiji were the funerals of both her parents in 2004.
She has two children Michael Kamisese Mara-Dugdale and Charlotte Mara-Dugdale.
