Wikipedia talk:List of images/Nature/Plants/Flowers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've uploaded maybe 14 of the ~24 Redoute flower paintings I have, and I also have a couple of dozen paintings of vases of flowers by various artists. I hate to do the writing to make articles for them, so I wasn't going to upload the rest of them any time soon, but if anyone willing to do the word part is interested in having the images, please let me know (and tell me what size you want them), and I'll upload them with a comment of who they're by, and you can do whatever you please with them. -- isis 26 Aug 2002
I've been taking pictures of flowers in bloom, but I can't identify most of them. Please help me identify them. Eventually, we should probably divide this page into sections based upon types of flowers (compound vs. simple, number of petals, raidial vs. bilateral symmetry, etc) AdamRetchless 03:37, 14 May 2004 (UTC)
I've also uploaded a number of images of flowers that I can't identify. They're all here at Commons:Unknown flowers. If any of you could help, I'd be most grateful. – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 00:47, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
- I recognize several of those right off. Should I move them to Flower album as they get identified? - Marshman 01:05, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
There are more free photos of unidentified flowers here, here, here, and here. If you can identify any of them, please upload the image (preferably to the Commons) and place it in the appropriate page on Wikipedia. All can be tagged as {{CopyrightedFreeUse}}. Or, if you're feeling lazy, let me know what the flower is of, and I'll do the grunt work. Thanks!
Also, there are images of other things, mostly unidentified, on the same site here. If you can use these, feel free. – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 20:28, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)
- Again, I can see several in each set that are pretty easily identifiable. How would you suggest we let yopu know the names? - Marshman 04:10, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I notice that they are already named (common names used for file name); For example, in the first set the two Rhododendron photos are named "rhode1" and "rhode2" - Marshman 18:02, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Move to Wiki Commons
Any interest or complaints about moving these pictures to the Commons? They would get wider circulation in the end. - Marshman 02:07, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I have no objections. A lot of work for someone, though, isn't it? Or did someone come up with tools to make it easier? Elf | Talk

- Aha! Now that I do not know. But the Commons seems to be coming along nicely as the place for concepts like the Flower album. And some of these pictures are already over there. - Marshman
- I was about to reccomend the move myself. This link is Broken 4 July 2005 13:42 (UTC)

[edit] Move either to commons or to wikipedia namespace, please
This is in the main article namespace, but isn't an article. Please either move it to commons, as suggested above, or to the wikipedia namespace. If it really must remain in the main article namespace, please remove links to namespaces such as user:, as these break mirrors (which frequently don't show the user: namespace). Thanks. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 05:21, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
