Wow! good work Elf -- sannse (talk) 20:03, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Someone else created & formatted it; I merely came along and added your (and now my) dog photos. Elf | Talk 22:06, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] To be done

  • Find other dog photos used on dog breed pages and add here.
  • While checking, look at other language versions of pages & see whether there are usable photos for the breed.
    • I have looked through all existing articles from List of dog breeds for photos not listed here and for foreign versions. DONE! Elf | Talk 19:25, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Perhaps split this further into subpages, e.g., Dogs/BreedsAtoF etc.

Elf | Talk 22:06, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

  • Double-check all dog photos for copyright/license info; if it's OK, add photo here. If not, attempt to contact user (user talk page and email) and add {{unverified}} to the photo page. Leave note here as to what was attempted (and probably also on photo page or its talk page).

[edit] Photos in question

Moved to Wikipedia:List of images/Nature/Animals/Dogs/Photos in question so that What Links Here on photos makes it clearer why there's a link to it.Elf | Talk 18:10, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

If you encounter a photo in question, add link to it on preceding page; you might also try email and/or note on user page using one of Wikipedia:Boilerplate request for permission or something like this:

Hi. <<when>>, you contributed a nice photo of <<what>> to the Wikipedia public domain encyclopedia.
We're trying to clear up licensing and copyright for all photos
that we use in articles. Your photo is here:
  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:<<imagename>>.jpg
We need to know who took the photo (if you know--e.g., was it you),
and whether it's in the public domain or licensed under the same
GFDL that the Wikipedia text is.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GFDL for more information.
If you can edit that page or let me know directly,
I'd be delighted. Thanks!
  • Questions remain:
    • Rin Tin Tin, Image:RinTinTin.jpg: Contrib gave this new attribution: This is a photo of a sculpted artwork and not subject to copyright. Taken from [personal.inet.fi/cool/ gringo/pics/rintintin1.jpg], but I can't confirm any (c) info on that site & if it's "artwork" it must be a taxidermied dog-- I'll put this on the "OK" page but this is a heads-up. Elf | Talk 15:44, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)
    • Giant dog (possibly Tibetan Mastiff), Image:Dogintibet.jpg, user on only once and contrib. only this. Sent email but didn't bother leaving msg on nonexistent user/talk pgs. (An odd, fuzzy, unexplained photo w/no breed or other info; not currently used & probably won't be because we have no idea what it is.) Elf | Talk 00:28, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC) Update: This is probably a . Contributor says uncertain of source, maybe a BB. Sent me more photos also of uncertain source. Adding note to image page. [edit] Nonalpha order

Hey Elf, sorry about moving things out of alphabetical order, It was simply for ease of formatting (the page is getting pretty long). Theon 16:56, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)

OK, I broke it into sections to make editing easier. Elf | Talk 18:20, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I added the Boxer puppy photo...and screwed up the alignment. Someone more adept, please correct. Thanks. Tribe 21:44, Aug 21, 2004 (UTC)
