Talk:List of solution strategies for differential equations
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Page goal
I started this page for a simple reason: I haven't taken differential equations for six years and recently needed to know how to solve various differential equations. While Wikipedia has pages for a number of solution strategies and it has Examples of differential equations, I saw the need for a “cheat sheet” to easily answer the question “How do I solve this equation?” (I don't think this should go into explanations about applications like Examples of differential equations does.)
I think the best way to do this is to have a list of the techniques, sorted by type of equation (as abakharev suggested below) along with the short short version of the solution. —BenFrantzDale 14:45, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Basically, this is the differential equation version of Table of integrals. —BenFrantzDale 21:40, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ODEs & PDEs
Should we sparate ODE and PDE here? abakharev 12:37, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- That sounds like a good idea. —BenFrantzDale 14:45, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
