Is this a necessary entry in Wikipedia?

Barth Burger from You Can't Do That On Television was a parody of any greasy-spoon style hamburger restaurant. I vote that item be removed from the McDonald's parody list. 71.113.170.4 02:09, 5 April 2006 (UTC)anonymous

There are several fictional businesses that are appearing in the list as parodies of multiple real businesses. This suggests to me that the fictional version is not specifically a parody of any one business, like Barth's. These should, IMO, all be removed from the list. Examples include "Gasigo" from Freakazoid which is claimed as a parody of BOTH Sunoco AND Texaco, and "Smarty Mart" from Kim Possible which is claimed as a parody of BOTH K Mart AND Wal-Mart. If it's not specific enough to confine it to a single business, it doesn't belong on the list. The list isn't for all parodies of businesses, it's for specific real businesses that are parodied in pop culture. 12.22.250.4 18:35, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pizza Planet?

I always assumed Pizza Planet was a nod to Chuck E. Cheese's rather than Planet Hollywood. PH is a regular sit-down restaurant (albeit an obscenely overpriced one) whereas the children in Toy Story run amok, playing video games, as they do at CC. —Xanderer 22:19, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Me too. 91BOY 15:44, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hotels?

Let's add hotel parodies on here too.

[edit] Chotchkie's?

I took Chotchkie's to be a parody of Bennigans rather than Fridays. The colors are right for Bennigans, and after that, the two are very similar: "Carrie at a flea market" decor and lots of buttons (aka the movie's "flair") on a wait staff with an eerie emphasis on upbeat cheer. 69.162.59.13 22:08, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Those restaurants are all identical anyway. To parody one is to parody any of them. -Branddobbe 01:26, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
See the top of this page. If it doesn't specifically parody one business, it has no business being in the list and should be removed. 12.22.250.4 18:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] United States only?

I removed the "United States" wording at the top of the page, because:

  1. Removal makes it more relivant for an international audience, rather than the article being US only.
  2. If it were to be just for the United States, the article would be called List of pop culture parodies of United States businesses or something like that. --Christhebull 13:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nasty Burger and Krusty Krab=McDonalds?

Why are Nasty Burger and The Krusty Krab on the McDonalds list? They are original, and not parodying anything. (Along with many others wrongly on that list) Just because McDonalds is the largest chain does not mean all fictional resturants are parodies of it unless specified!

[edit] Dunkin' Donuts

I'm the anonymous guy who added the Dunkin' Donuts entries. Why were they taken off?

[edit] Other Pop culture Parodies list

there should be other pop culture parodies list, like products.

[edit] Toy World

Why is Toy world there when it is in fact a real store 0.o, it is in NZ!!!!
