[edit] Philosophy of alternative medicine articles explained
Philosophy of alternative medicine articles are clearly NOT branches of alternative medicine, nor talking about history or famous people. Obviously, they are articles that talk about the philosophy of the movement or the natural philosophy theories that underlie alternative medicine.
Wellness would be a good example, if it was not for its poor writing style and content. Alternative medicine is another classic example of the philosophy of alternative medicine. Another good example would be Lifestyle Diseases which discusses the philosophy behind only one branch of alternative medicine called natural health. It would have nothing to do with other branches, like homeopathy for example. John Gohde 23:26, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I mean, I could see Wellness. But Folic Acid? Asthma? Cholesterol? These are not philosophy topics in any meaningful sense. Snowspinner 19:10, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Use of the word "philosophy"
I don't understand why the title has the word "philosophy". Sounds pretentious and inaccurate. Folic acid for example, doesn't have much to do with philosophy. --Lee Hunter 12:19, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I agree with this comment, and was about to make it myself. This doesn't seem to be a list of topics related to philosophy. It's a list of types and methods. The philosophy title is erroneous at best. Snowspinner 15:45, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)
From day one, this talk page stated: "This article will be modeled after Schools of Buddhism which is a required part of the WikiProject on Buddhism menu navigation system." Further, the above section Philosophy of alternative medicine articles explained pretty well explains it even more. -- John Gohde 19:07, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- And that's fine. I'm not saying that there should not be a list of topics on the philosophy of alternative medicine. I'm just saying, these topics don't seem to be on the philosophy of alternative medicine. Snowspinner 19:01, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Why should this be a redirect instead of an article on the philosophy of alternative medicine?
Because obviously a List existing since April 2004 has been edited by scores of editors and has many links to it. Making it a stub article destroys these old links. And, I would call that an act of deliberate vandalism. So, please make it a redirect once again like all moves are. Unfortunately once an article name has been used as a redirect, it has to remain a redirect unless you have a way of transferring all the old links to the new name. -- John Gohde 18:54, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- If it is something that greatly bothers you, you are welcome to use "What links here" and change them. Snowspinner 18:56, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)
