Hey on "buy the farm" or "bought the farm" I had always thought this was in reference to: the farmer dieing, the spouse collecting on the insurance and using it to purchase (pay off the loan on) the farm. Hence the farmer is buying the farm using his life. Anyone know anymore about the wartime pilot crashing thing listed on the main page? That one I'd never heard before.
