Talk:List of female television actors

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If "Actors who only have had appearances in television films or series are not considered television actors and are not included in this list." who are considered television actors? KorbenDirewolf 20:00, 20 Sep 2004 (UTC)

3rd entry down. apparently her parents had her imdb.com entry deleted/removed after a stalker in 2005/2006 according to her website. Cached pages of her imdb.com page show her credits.

Grand Strand has news links in google:

Looks more like a jealous stage parent then a wikipedia editor at this point.WorkingHard 18:52, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I have no relation with her, avoid attacking me on the grounds to list it. Wikipedia deleted her article, and the show she was supposedly in. The fact that she's in a piece of local news covering a local pilot television isn't good sourcing, its just local activity. The 3rd link down for me is actually quite interesting,(cache) it mentions, among other things about posts there: "Several were lame attempts to promote Alexis as a up-and-coming "star" using bogus usernames" Please avoid listing local activity on wikipedia. [edit] Alexis Stodghill

I believe that restrictions on vanity edits and advertisement should be adhered to in this article. In order to prevent this kind of situation, the editors have made the restrictions on inclusion explicit: "This is an alphabetical list of notable female television actors. Actors who only have had minor appearances in television films or series are not included in this list". Since Alexis Stodghill seems to (just barely) fall into the second category after having been involved in a commercial and a TV pilot which was cancelled, I'm afraid the argument presented by Kevin_Breitenstein above is valid. Having said that: I wish her lots of success and I hope she will have a chance to appear in many TV shows in the near future, and in legitimate Wikipedia entries of course, once she made her debute in a titled role and is mentioned in cast and credits for the show or movie. If the talent is there, she will have a long and illustrious career in front of her, and not even bad, premature publicity stunts like this will hamper her rise to the stars. The problem with the reasoning you introduce on my talk page for her inclusion here is that she is nowhere to be found among the cast in the IMDb entry for Grand Strand:

--Grand Strand (2006) (TV) SUSPENDED--

  • Production: USA, Fuse Network [us]
  • Director: Anghus Houvouras
  • Cast: Aaron Carter (I), James Forgey, Tristan Jones, Brent Lovell, Eric Nies, Taylor Shipe, Tim Woodward Jr., Cory Broadwater, Ryan Cabrera, Heidi Lingren, Melissa Lukon, Danielle Motley.

And according to Swirl films' web site it has not been picked up, so I seriously doubt it is playing in Canada, as you state on my user page. Simply being photographed on the set of the pilot, being an extra, or having a minor role for the first time, would probably not qualify as notable enough and would probably not be sufficient for inclusion on the page in question either. Being in a public awareness campaign, anonymous, with voice-overs, petting a cat, is not what I suspect is meant by major "appearances in television films or series TV acting" either, no matter how many places the announcement is shown. Pia maybe you don't understand this, Grand Strand was "suspended" because her name was removed via complaints from her parents, the title was suspended untill it can be reworked. Her imdb page was removed, and as I showed you, it DID exist with full credits.

You are now letting your personal feelings of an arbitration get involved with any wikipedia edits that any user who disagrees with you does. This is harrassment and can you banned from wikipedia, as you have and are breaking several core rules of wikipedia. I'll seek your removal immediatley.65.184.18.231 06:52, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Permit me to point out that there are serious problems with your logic. Prospective shows don't get "suspended" because of parents' complaints, and neither did the pilot Grand Strand. The Wikipedia article about Grand Strand was removed for lack of notability, as was the Alexis Stodghill vanity article on Wikipedia and the vanity IMBd entry. It had nothing to do with the parents being "concerned". As a contributor to this project, I, like any other normal editor here, feel a moral obligation to prevent people from attempting to use and misuse Wikipedia as a marketing tool if such practices are blantantly revealed to us, especially if overbearing and bullying behavior, such as blanking of pages, is accompanying those marketing attempts and vanity edits. You have stated on my user page that you are "close" to the family in question -- it is obvious that your edits of this page are pure vanity edits for that reason alone, not even taking the issues revealed during the arbitration into account. Sorry, not to hurt your feelings, but I couldn't care less about you personally, however, I do care about Wikipedia and what I have seen done by you and the cluster of addresses which you are editing in orchestration with, deeply concerns me from an ethical point of view.
