This list should be edited (probably by someone more knowledgeable in literature than I) to provide more information, aid in navigation, and be more accessible (see WP:LIST). Two suggestions for improvement:

  • Subdivide this article into sections based on authors' nationality, primary subject-matter, year of birth, etc.
  • Add a brief summary to each, or to the most notable, author(s) (i.e., anything other than a list of names, which although perhaps valuable, is difficult to read/use).
