Talk:List of dictators/Juan Perón

The prior annotation and his WP article do not seem to support Perón meeting criteria:

|Juan Perón||Argentina|| 1946-1955, 1973-1974||President of Argentina. Gained power in a coup, though was elected later. [1] During his second stint in office, he favored politicians from the right and ultraright wings of the Peronist movement. This trend was viewed by the Montoneros and other leftist Peronists as a betrayal of the working people who helped elect him. Peronists and Trotskyists began a guerrilla war that contributed to the rise of the military dictatorship in 1976.[citation needed]

During coup, Perón was not an absolute ruler, but in military coalition. Later, during presidency, even if an argument could be made for absoluter rulership, he did not overturn rule-of-law. Whatever Perónism may have led to after his death, that doesn't qualify Perón himself for inclusion. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 03:52, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
