Talk:List of darkwave music artists

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I made this page, help out with the band list as you wish.

Nice page, but darkwave is not this broad. Project Pitchfork and Autumn Tears for example sound completely different. I would say that Autumn Tears, BTfaBG and such like were not Darkwave. It may be worth including Mortiis, his newer albums seem to be so. Pro-jekt aswell. Perhaps you could remove Autumn Tears, BtfaBG, Audra, Lycia and such that are classed as darkwave, but technically not, by linking ot Projekt Records, and saying that anything signed to it is often counted as 'Darkwave'? Dark wave is an umbrella term. it's not a musicstyle. maybe you have an one-sided opinion? dark wave is an outgrowth of New wave. Compare the musicgroups of the New wave era... Boy George sound completely different than the Talking Heads... Ultravox sound completely different than The Cure...
Mortiis and Dahlia's Tears are Dark ambient groups. they're not really Dark wave.
Newer Mortiis is not that Ambient. I suppose it is more Synthpop than darkwave. J Milburn 18:00, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
New Mortiis stuff is Industrial Rock. --Menorrhea 23:13, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

We should delete this list and use the list of Darkwave releases. Then we can see the released albums, and a home-recording/demo band has no chance. --Menorrhea 23:13, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
