I've moved this page from Minor characters in Sonic the Comic to List of minor characters in Sonic the Comic because it's the name suggested by Wikipedia:Deletion policy/Minor characters, and I'd used the same naming when I started List of minor characters in the Matrix series. But I've just noticed that the other Sonic-related minor character pages also omit "List of..." so now this page doesn't match those. So which naming should be used? IMO they should all be changed to "List of..."; that's how I interpreted the deletion policy page. --Nick RTalk 15:54, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Merging all STC character articles
I really don't think that, as long as their articles are, STC character like Nutzan Bolt and Captain Plunder deserve their own articles judging by Wikipedia:Deletion policy/Minor characters. So I'm merging the ones listed in Template:Sonic into this list. --Nick RTalk 16:11, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

You'ved merged several major characters from the Comic into this article. If the Archie comic gets indivual pages for characters I haven't even heard of, surely the mainstrays like Grimer (he appears in nearly EVERY storyline invovling Sonic, how can that make him minor?), Tekno, Brutus (maybe not a Mainstray, but he certainly made an impact in the comic - Sonic never ccould defeat him!) and the like can get their own articles again? --ACE Spark 10:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- There are several reasons that all these characters are on this one page. First of all, most of these characters had no information on Wikipedia at all until it was added here. This page largely allowed the addition of that information. Grimer and Tekno, for example, never had articles beyond redirects. Please note, however, that the page has been renamed specifically so that it no longer includes the word "minor" in the title. Characters such as Porker and Johnny are certainly not minor within STC, although as they appear in no other continuity they are minor within the Sonic franchise as a whole.
- In comparison to the Archie comic, STC is at a disadvantage for a few reasons: primarily because it is no longer running, but Archie is. Also, Archie had a connected television series involving some of the same characters, which instantly gives it a wider market. And there's the simple fact that editors have been working on the Archie pages for a lot longer than on the STC pages. There's been more time to expand, revise them, etc.
- There is no rule against creating articles for any of these characters, providing there is sufficient information (text, pictures, whatever) to warrant that split. As yet, none of the characters here have that much information (for a guideline, the Captain Plunder article is about the right size, although a lot of it is plot exposition). It would be great if we could split off some of these characters into their own articles, but first we need to add more encyclopedic information to their sections in this article. -- Supermorff 14:25, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
