Talk:List of calculators

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Do we really need this? There must be tens of thousands of different types of calculators, all differing from each other in trivial ways. DJ Clayworth 20:58, 19 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I agree, this article is not needed (at least in it's curent form).

"List of scientific calculators" is clearly wrong, there are "business calculators" and others on the list. This should generally be a list of "notable" calculators, the first programmable, etc, just as list of people is for the article-worthy, not the ones "all differing from each other in trivial ways". :-) Stan 16:44, 22 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I agree with the above comment. The name change is too restrictive. There are many significant calculators that probably warrant their own article but aren't scientific. -- Popsracer 22:28, 22 Sep 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Spring 2004

It says that the TI-84 Plus will come out in the spring of 2004, but now it is nearly summer 2004. This is certainly out-of-date. 66.245.25.83 17:34, 22 May 2004 (UTC)

[edit] TI-82

Have we yet reached the point where the TI-82 is expected to be discontinued?? When is it to be exact?? One update I have made to several TI graphing calculator articles is to change the ==See also== section to simply List of calculators because that's where the list deserves to be. Can anyone suggest making a MediaWiki template for TI graphing calculators at this moment?? 66.32.255.134 22:07, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] TI-84 Vfd

Go to Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/TI-84. Several Wikipedians want the graphing calculator articles to be merged. Any comments on what to do with the links in this article?? 66.245.125.240 23:35, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] 73 vs 73 explorer

I don't think the 73 and 73 explorer need to be listed as two different calculators. There is zero hardware difference between them, just a different paint job and the word "explorer" etched on the front. The difference is just as insignificant as the various aesthetic variations on the 83P (solid plastic vs clear blue plastic vs clear purple plastic).
