Talk:List of calculator words

[edit] Alpha-mode

Some scientific calculators have an alpha-mode in which they can produce real letters. For example, my Casio can produce ABCDEFXY and M. Should this be mentioned here, or not? The intro to the article states that it refers to 7-cell LCD displays.

[edit] Deletion

First off, this page is hardly new; it's been sitting on Wikipedia for some time. The new page I started was the result of a heavy reorganisation in calculator spelling.

Secondly, there's no doubt it's messy. As I said, it was a copy/paste job. I have plans to fix it.

Finally, I absolutely beg to differ on its encyclopaedic value. It's clearly a hard point to debate as it's based on perspective, but I'm standing my ground. (If List of people with breast implants is encyclopaedic, I have a case!)

Consider moving this to {{afd}}. Spamguy 16:18, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree. The page definitely needs cleaning up (and a link to the Calculator spelling article), but in terms of being a good list it is (a) exhaustive (or can be made so), (b) maintainable, and (c) a handy reference. If it goes to afd I will argue for keep. Confusing Manifestation 05:16, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Phonetically, 5201314 (wu er ling yi san yi si) = 我爱你一生一世 (wo ai ni yi sheng yi shi) in Chinese.

I love you... and then? --Abdull 09:38, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm? Spamguy 16:12, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
It means "I love you for my entire life". Exteray® 00:07, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
