Interesting little article. Are you sure that's it for storms? The wording could be improved in places, and more info is definetly needed. Also, you should probably make some links to this article. Currently, the only link is through the quality log. --Hurricanehink (talk) 12:42, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Do you think we could make it List of African tropical cyclones? Then the article would be much bigger and we would have those few NInd storms and the SInd ones that affect Madagascar. Plus, wasn't there a S Atlantic system that affected africa? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 12:57, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
That could be a good idea. The 1991 South Atlantic storm you might be thinking of formed just off the coast of Africa (in South Atlantic), but didn't affect land to our knowledge. First, we should decide how far we're going to go with the list of XXX hurricanes. I'll bring it up on the Wikiproject page. --Hurricanehink (talk) 21:53, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I did some major copy-editing of this article. It needed it badly. Also, are we sure that all of these are really notable? Half of them just say "passed to the south of the Cape Verde Islands as a tropical depression." bob rulz 17:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

If we excluded those with a known impact to Cape Verde or West Africa, then there would be very few storms here. However, as proposed above, a List of Africa tropical cyclones, which would include all of the impacting Cape Verde, West Africa, and East Africa, would be a much more useful article, IMO. It would be more useful, but doing so might be confusing, IMO. In east Africa, they are called cyclones and happen during Dec-May. In west Africa, they are called hurricanes and happen in Jun-Nov. It can become confusing if the structure of the article continuously switches from cyclones in the south-east, to hurricanes in the north-west, since they happen in very different parts of Africa. Does this make a little bit of sense to you???????? RaNdOm26 11:11, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Maybe so, but why couldn't it be separated by basin, if needed? Hurricanehink (talk) 21:34, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Christine

Shouldn't TS Christine(1973) be on this list, as it formed over Africa. Jamie|C 09:12, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
