[edit] Binghampton ??
If that name is referencing the small city in upstate New York then it "Binghamton" without the "P"
- According to the USMM list, the ship had a P in her name.--J Clear 16:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Incomplete
Could it be that the list is to short?
- Looks to me like someone started to input it alphabetically and ran out of steam. Definately too short, here's a longer list. Anyone with the time to expand the Wiki list, please read the Too Many Stubs comment. --J Clear 16:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

- Yes, I've noticed that too - I think it would be a challege to finish the list. There's a lot of ships! Mfields1 00:06, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- There is a USMM copyright on the linked page, so I'm a bit leary to suck their list in. Anyone have a Navy list?--J Clear 14:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- If there's not a copyright issue, saving the EXCEL spreadsheet as a CSV file would let it be easily massaged into Wiki input. I know USN photos are fair game, but not sure if USMM docs fall under the same copyright exemption.--J Clear 14:38, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Too Many Stubs
To get rid of the "too many red links" stigma, would it make more sense to: link all the ships back to Victory Ship on this page, create the missing stubs as a redirect to Victory Ship, or just de link the red ones? --J Clear 16:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- I would vote for the de-link option, perhaps with a note on the page asking persons who have a particular interest in a ship to create a link. Wiki never is finished anyway, but each of these ships has a tale to tell. For every ship successfully built there is probably a thousand or more persons connected to that ship, either as crew members or military troops passengers. It would be nice to see people do a write up on each ship since the information is slowly passing away as the WWII veterans leave us every day in great numbers. Mfields1 00:06, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Next time I dust off sed or Perl for another project, I'll give it a shot. Maybe suck in the USMM list as well.--J Clear 04:56, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- I have the USSM list in an EXCEL spreadsheet. Got to find where I put it. Want to collaborate on listing all the ships? Mfields1 14:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- I removed all the red links from the current list. (And added my alma mater by way of reward.) See comment above in "Incomplete" on copyright.--J Clear 14:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed AP5
Sorry for the disputed tag, but I don't have time to correct it right now. The AP5 types should be listed as "USS SomeCounty (APA-###)". SS just isn't right.--J Clear 22:51, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Since the there is already a list of APA in wikipedia, perhaps deleting the AP5 types from this list, and linking there is the way to go.--J Clear 14:26, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

- Corrected list as is. --J Clear 17:08, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
