[edit] Consider...
Before deletion of this page is considered, please try to understand that I am merely trying to clean up The Amazing Race trivia, which has been the subject of much notability controversy, to more acceptable standards. I am trying to mirror this page with List of Survivor statistics and trivia, which seems to have been deemed acceptable by other editors.--HansTAR 02:09, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
This site is so much neater than The Amazing Race trivia and I freely admit it as one of the people who has probably added my fair share to the sloppiness of the previous page. My only suggestion is changing the chart of winners. I see that you have mirrored the List of Survivor statistics and trivia page by showing the winner and the runner up. Since in The Amazing Race, the final leg is run by 3 teams, instead of 2 (like the finals of Survivor), I would ask that you add the names/relationships, etc. of the 3rd place team, as well. --wickersham223 17:00, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, I don't know if you have a back-up for BJ and Tyler's "Winner's Unique Distinction," but they did not win the penultimate leg. That was Leg 11 (Thailand → Japan), and it was won by Eric and Jeremy. --wickersham223 17:40, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thailand-Japan WAS won by BJ & Tyler...remember the boat race to the Swan boat? So thus they are the only team to win the penultimate and antepenultimate leg. --66.110.220.74 13:57, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
If I may say, I think this page will do a much better job at keeping out unorganized random fancruft from keeping in, since everything looks to be a set record. On the other page, it was all too easy for someone to insert a random bullet with random new information. Any thoughts on what else to put on the page? Something related to tasks? --66.110.220.74 13:57, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Youngest team?
The stat page currently lists:
- Youngest Average Age: The Weaver Family: Linda, 46; Rebecca, 19; Rachel, 16; Rolly, 14 (an average age of 19), on The Amazing Race: Family Edition
The problem with this is that based on my calculations, that's an average age of 23.5, not 19. And there are several other teams (including the winning Linz team from that same season) with an average age of less than 23. Unfortunately I don't have the ages for all the other teams so I can't correct this, but somebody else probably should. --Maelwys 16:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removed from main article
The following piece of trivia I just removed from the main article, so as to completely remove the Trivia section:
- Lyn & Karlyn and Dustin & Kandice of Season 10 both reached the final four teams of that season, marking the first time two all-female teams made it that far. Lyn & Karlyn became the first all-female team to race in the final leg. In the first nine seasons, two female teams placed 4th: Linda & Karen (Season 5) and the Godlewski Family (Season 8).
I know that the part about Lyn & Karlyn being the first all-female team in the final 3 is already mentioned here, but I figured I might as well copy this here, in case the part about the "4th place" female teams needed to be somehow incorporated into this article. --08:32, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
