[edit] There has got to be a better title...

This title as it is ("List of Unplayble Super Smash Bros.Series character") really sucks. It's way too long and there's no space between Bros. and Series. And the user RememberMe? forgot to fix the double redirects, but they should remain broken until we can come up with a much better name for this page. - Hbdragon88 00:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Two moves later, it's now "List of unplayable Super Smash Bros. series character." Still sucks. I, personally, think that this should be merged with the other character page; I don't believe there is a need for two separate pages. - Hbdragon88
Okay, I went ahead and fixed the double redirects, since this page doesn't appear to be moving anywhere else soon. - Hbdragon88 05:33, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that. I agree that the name is way too long, but I honestly can't think of a better one. I hope somebody can. RememberMe? 22:58, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
I've got a name! How about List of Super Smash Bros. NPCs? RememberMe? 20:34, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Some clown reverted it. I'm changing it back. Good god don't become an edit war...RememberMe? 01:49, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

The amount of times that this sonofabitch page has been moved...sigh...I'm getting so tired fixing the redirects each time that this happens... Hbdragon88 05:04, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] How to fight Giga Bowser

The Giga Bowser section says it will tell you how to make him come to fight you, but it never does. Can someone add it? 68.194.16.14 23:45, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Beat Adventure Mode in 18 minutes or less without continuing on Normal difficulty of higher. --Luigifan 02:34, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

  • disagree This things has to much detail to be effectivly merged into super smash beos. artical —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PopiethePopester (talkcontribs) 14:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC).
  • disagree Same here. But I STRONGLY reccomend that we split the article back up like it was before, with each character having its own article. It was much better that way and it held a LOT more information.RememberMe? 03:08, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No, it wasn't. Half of the shit in every article was filled up with GameFAQs-like information. Look at the last edit of Giga Bowser. Only the first paragraph is considered salvagable; the rest of GameFAQs-esque crap that is of no concern to the average reader; if an advanced player was interested, they could simply look up a FAQ. It's not encylcopedia mateiral. Hbdragon88 21:00, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Okay,I'll admit that the Giga Bowser article went overboard, but if you ask me, the others were fine. And besides, we could do it right this time. RememberMe? 01:08, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I don't know, could you really? As far as I can see, those one or two paragraphs for each character in this current article is the most that can be done without going overboard on the information. Sandbag, for instnace, is the right length - if it was in its own article it would be a stub. Hbdragon88 04:17, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Disagree Same as top, but put the info in the article in the characters page AND the SSB page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.175.255.156 (talk • contribs) 19:37, 21 May 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Master Hand

Someone should put in how to unlock the master hand trophy... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yoshi032192 (talkcontribs) 20:05, 17 May 2006 (UTC).

If that's true, then why not the Crazy Hand, Giga Bowser, Female Wire Frame, Male Wire Frame, Fighting Wire Frames, Sandbag, and Metal Mario trophies as well? RememberMe? 03:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Good point! anyone know any of those? Or should we just like, google it or something?
Well, Master Hand is beat Classic on Normal or harder with no continues, Giga Bowser is defeat Giga Bowser, Crazy Hand is beat Adventure on Hard or Very Hard with no continues, Sandbag is get a certain distance on the HRC (I don't know exactly what), and the Wire Frames all have something to do with the Multi-Man melee. I think Metal Mario is just a regular trophy.RememberMe? 23:24, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
well someone put that stuff up, well, the suff that is efinitly right.

[edit] Master Hand isn't an original character

I'm pretty sure that Master Hand actually originates from Kirby Super Star for SNES, meaning that he wasn't created for the Super Smash Bros. games. Can anyone else confirm this? FreakmanJ 19:29, 25 June, 2006. (UTC)

Master Hand is obviously influenced by the Wham Bam Rock (the real name of the boss from KSS) as they share similar attacks, but they look entirely different. Master Hand is a big gloved hand while WBR is made of rock and has a giant witch doctor face in the background Xubelox 10:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

He's an original character. He was just heavily influenced by past creations. RememberMe? 23:46, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Master Hand was in Kirby Superstar, but not as Wham Bam Rock. At the continue screen, Kirby is asleep and an anthopamorphic white glove either wakes him up rather rudely( pressing continue) or lets him sleep (game over). He did the same thing in Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Course. Seeing as how Hal produces the Kirby games as well as Smash Bros., it would make sence that they'd make a character from their games the villain. DeathWeed 01:18, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

My mother (of all people) noted that Master Hand resembles the hand used to swat flies as a mini-game in Mario Paint.

Well, Master Hand looks similiar to Mario and Luigi's glove. So, possibly Master Hand could be a spiritual form of Mario Bros glove. If you see the article about Luigi, when it says about the Mario and Luigi series, it says that Mario Bros were called the Hands of Power, because Mario holded the power of fire and Luigi the power of lightning. Or it could be a form of a Mario Ghost (from Super Mario 64), showing it's gloves.

Man, just change them from white to yellow and you get Andross's hands... --Luigifan 02:50, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Those pokemon moves...

Goldeen doesn't use Splash; she uses Horn Drill. It's as infamously inaccurate as it is in the games; i've only seen it hit four times, thrice in the original and once in Melee. Probably about the strength of a Homerun bat...

Plus, should it be mentioned that Togepi's Metronome produces completely different attacks from Clefairy? Clefairy can't get Darkness (No idea what the move is) or any of those which put surrounding players to sleep/flower them.

The darkness is Night Shade. --Luigifan 02:51, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I would've made the Goldeen edit but I know no-one will believe me and it'll just get reverted.

I made the edit, but it was reverted. CJ 17:14, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

The Goldeen rumor has not been explicity proven as of yet and currently stands at false. Unless someone can provide clear, video proof of it happening, it's not real. RememberMe? 18:43, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Action Replay

I think it's worth noting that these NPCs can become playable characters through the use of an Action Replay Dlong 02:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree, I also think it's worth mentioning that Master Hand and Crazy Hand cannot be killed unless in stamina mode, and their moves are done using combnations of the D-Pad, X, Y, and R/L buttons. - Joe T.E. 08:45, 06 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to interrupt, but technicaly, Metal Mario is playable(as is Metal Luigi) if you usew Mario and get the Metal Block.-LordPants

In the first Super Smash bros. Metal Mario is a NPC.

[edit] Crazy Hand info is wrong.

The line that says that Crazy Hand comes into battle after you halve Master Hand's HP in less than one minute is inaccurate. My brother got Crazy Hand even though he got Master Hand's HP down to half in over one minute, and there were many times that I didn't fight Crazy Hand even though I satisfied that condition. I believe that you have to beat Classic within a certain time limit, but I don't remember how long. The Legend of Miyamoto 02:27, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

It depends on the difficulty of Classic Mode that you play. I don't believe that you fight him in the easier difficulties, only on Medium, Hard, and Very Hard.Dflocks80 09:48, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
It doesn't matter how long it takes you to do it, you just have to get MH's HP down to half, that's all. Also, BTW, they are just "Master Hand" and "Crazy Hand". I have no idea where this "Hand Bros." stuff comes from. I'm changing it.

The time does matter, just in a different way. The time it takes you to get MH's HP down to 1/2 is irrelevant, but the time it takes you to GET to MH and reduce his HP does, it has to be within 15 minutes. Trust me, I know Melee. ; ) RememberMe? 23:39, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What about Giant Donkey Kong?

Shouldn't he be added?

He shouldn't in my opinion. In SSBM any character can appear as a 'giant' character, so there is nothing special about giant DK. -- user:Blue Tuphoon

By that reasoning, any character in Melee can also become Metal. Yet Metal Mario and Metal Luigi are mentioned. -SaturnYoshi 13:59, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Those characters are shown to be some sort of separate entities. Donkey Kong is just a gameplay thing. Nemu 14:03, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Giga Bowser edit

I removed the following text for I deemed irrelevant.

In the beginning cutscene of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario, Peach, and Yoshi are seen on the Final Destination stage with Bowser being hit by a bolt of lightning. This may be the transformation of Bowser into Giga Bowser because the trophy is struck by lightning once the player meets the requirements in Adventure Mode. (Note that in the cutscene the lightning is blue while prior to the fight against Giga Bowser the lightning is yellow.)

If it is or isn't, I don't think it will provide anyone enlightenment. If I am wrong, feel free to add it again. 207.179.172.220 17:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Someone has put it back in, but it seems pretty irrelevant to me, as does most of the purely speculative fan stuff about the Hands. Makron1n 14:28, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Master Hand Unlockable?

I have no real references for this other than this YouTube video. 30 rotations to unlock Master Hand in SSB? fruitofwisdom 13:41, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

As the comments on the video are indicating, it's a fake. --Sparky Lurkdragon 15:20, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Hand that rocks the cradle is (really) the main villain (or so we think)

I'm pretty sure that Master Hand was the creator of the first Smash Bros world. But what about that human arm in the opening and that Master Hand trophy? Does it seem to suggest that the Melee version of Master Hand was created to be the main villain in that game ?

Personally I dont care what the Hand trophies say about Master Hand creating things in the Melee game, cause I think thats BS anyway. --4.229.42.78 18:21, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, who cares what the game says? Dlong 19:06, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Original Research

Wikipedia does not allow original research. Please stop adding such items as the origins and purposes of Master Hand and Crazy Hand, as I WILL remove them. Dlong 21:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

This is mostly true. However, the line about "Crazy Hand is said to be the result of a deity-type being wanting to destroy his creations, while Master Hand is the result of the same being wanting to interact with them" comes from the trophy descriptions of the two Hands; I don't think this particular bit is original research, so maybe that should be added back. Erik Jensen (I appreciate talk!) 21:36, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's pretty good. That can always be rephrased if there's any copyright issues. Erik Jensen (I appreciate talk!) 21:54, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dark Link

In the article Super Smash Bros. series, Dark Link is mention, but I don't see anything about him on the NPC article. Should information found here be added to this article?

Probably not. He didn't start from this series, so it would be sort of pointless. Nemu 17:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. Dark Link is NOT a seperately programmed character. The game simply takes Link, removes his voice-overs, and recolors him black. In fact, ANY character can become dark like that, or even solid white, or anything in between. In short, Dark Link is simply Link with a different look, and is not a seperate character in any way. 75.69.70.255 08:45, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Correct!! -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 08:51, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Giga Bowser edits

I added and changed a few things in the Giga Bowser part of this article... I removed the part about him being unable to shield because it is false, as when I used my Action Replay to play as him, I was clearly able to shield. I also clarified his inability to be thrown, I added that his Flame Breath(His B move) can go on forever, and I changed the part about his size, as When I compared Bowser at 2 times normal height, to Giga Bowser at normal height, they were just about the same. If anyone does not believe me, then I could find a camera, and take screenshots of my claims in action... - Joe T.E. 08:45, 06 December 2006 (UTC)
