[edit] How About Every Player, Ever?

If no one has any objections, I'd like to extend this list to include every player who has ever appeared in an NBA game. The information is readily available, and I'd be willing to type it all up. It's going to take me a while, though, and I'm going to have to break the page into several smaller pages, so if anyone has any comments or suggestions, leave 'em here (or on my talk page). Thanks. Zagalejo (I started to fill the gaps under "A" and "B," but I'm going to do the rest of the work offline.)

You're pretty awesome. You should go join the team at the NBA project page. Welcome to wiki. KSchutte 02:39, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
Just checking in. :) -- I'm still working on it; I've just been very busy with other things lately. In the worst-case scenario, it'll be complete by the end of the year. However, I'll try to have it up sooner than that if I can. Zagalejo 00:00, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
New plan: since the list would look kinda tacky with hundreds of red names, I think I'll limit myself to all the players who have scored 5,000 points or played for 10 seasons. People can add any other players they wish. Zagalejo 19:56, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for your hard work. Here's a couple of suggestions: I'd recommend going with 10 seasons instead of 5000 points. That way it will be easier to maintain (players become eligible for the list only once a season, instead of continuously). Also, you might want to consider excluding people on List of Current NBA Team Rosters. That way we only have to check the list of players who retire each season after spending ten years or more in the NBA, which should be a much more sustainable task. --Arcadian 17:12, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions. It might be a good idea to have two separate lists for active and inactive NBA players. What do other people think? Zagalejo 16:14, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
Oh, by the way, I was just using 5,000 points/ten seasons a jumping-off point to list a bunch of notable players who (I think) should have Wikipedia articles. My original intention was that any NBA player could be listed here. Eventually, however, this list will need to be split up somehow; it's just getting too long. Zagalejo 03:48, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
You should be able to list every single player. Remember, it's a list of NBA players, not a list of NBA players who currently have a wikipedia article. Even if adding obscure players with no attached article has to be done, do it, but don't necessarily link them. Downwards 00:48, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
