[edit] Orlando Bloom

His article says his stepfather was Jewish but both his biological parents are not Jewish. Does having a Jewish stepfather make someone Jewish?

Orlando Bloom doesn't have a stepfather... Our Wikipedia article doesn't say anything about either of his biological parents being Jewish or not being Jewish, actually. Regardless if they were/are or not, what we do have is the source cited by his name, from The Jewish Chronicle, that says he is Jewish... Mad Jack 22:44, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sarah Michelle Gellar

She is not Jewish. She has two Jewish parents, but has never practiced Judaism, and has stated she is Atheist (see the main page for Sarah Michelle Gellar for source). Neither of the two references listed on this page as "sources" verified she was Jewish, they were just Jewish web sites that listed her as being a Jew. Unless you are citing Judaism as an ethnicity, she is not Jewish. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.157.133.182 (talk) 17:06, 5 December 2006 (UTC). 70.157.133.182 17:06, 5 December 2006 (UTC) spooksmcgee

But we are citing Judaism as an ethnicity. Anyway, if a reliable source says someone is Jewish, she is Jewish - anything else violates WP:V, WP:NOR and WP:NPOV.--20.138.246.89 17:20, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
"She is not Jewish. She has two Jewish parents" ... wow.... reading that sentence makes my head hurt... really. "Judaism" isn't an ethnicity, but of course Jewishness is. Anyway, we do have reliable sources that refer to her as Jewish, so... (By the way, she has never said she's an atheist, just that she does not practice organized religion) Mad Jack 17:35, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
