Talk:List of British politicians by wealth at death

[edit] Inflation

It would be nice to have the figures in current (ie 2005) terms. This could be done quite easily using the UK RPI found here. Is that my job for the weekend then? Skatehorn 22:39, Nov 23, 2005 (CET)

Since the figures had to pre-date 1915, I am (about) to use eh.net's converter, which can handle any date back to 1830 (although it converts them to 2004 money). Perhaps one should also throw in a reflection of economic growth, to illustrate the magnitude of the wealth relative to the rest of the country? Bastin8 15:23, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
I'll answer my own question: No. Right, now that I've done that for the first two tables, I'm thinking that the two tables should be merged, and ordered by inflation-adjusted figures. Thus, it would leave a list of the wealthiest politicians, in purchasing power terms, in modern British history (plus the scrawny buggers that would sink to the bottom). By comparison, at the moment, the divisions seem arbitrary, and the order seems silly. Since that seems like quite a big task, I'll wait for someone to give the affirmative before I do that.
